Class of 2010

Hofmeister led the Southern Section in tackles with 185. He also had 9 sacks for Vista Murrieta's defense, which went into its CIF championship game against Chaparral undefeated.

 

 

 

 

John earned three varsity letters in football...two-time all-league performer…helped lead team to two league titles...as a senior, had league-leading 10 interceptions in 14 games and returned three for touchdowns…also had 65 tackles and five blocked kicks…named to MaxPrep’s All-California Division I second team and all-CIF Southern Section…also selected to Riverside Press-Enterprise all-area team and all-Inland Valley County…helped team finish with a perfect 10-0 league record…blocked 26 kicks during his varsity career, a new state record…also had 18 career interceptions, 140 career tackles, scored 10 touchdowns and set a school record with 38 career starts...an honor roll student.

 

 

Class of 2009

Was a four year letterman in football at Vista Murrieta High School... Recorded 62 tackles and five sacks as a senior in earning First Team All-Southwestern League honors ... was a Second Team All-Southwestern league pick as a junior after recording 50 tackles and four sacks ... helped Vista Murrieta, a fairly new school in the Murrieta Valley Unified School District to undefeated seasons in 2006 and 2007.

 

 

 

Tabbed All-Southern Section Inland Division as a utility player by the Orange County Register ... Named All-Southwest League at RB in 2007 and '08 ... Played in the 2008 Inland All-Stars Football Classic ... Rushed for 1,593 yards and 22 touchdowns as a senior ... Added 20 receptions for 206 yards three more scores ... Also returned eight kickoffs for 286 yards (35.8 YPR) ... As a junior ran for 976 yards and 11 touchdowns and caught 14 passes for 286 yards and four TDs. ... Helped the Broncos to 10-0 records and conference titles in both 2006 and '07

A three-year starter on the defensive line and an all-state defensive tackle as a senior...the defensive MVP in the Southwestern League and for Riverside County last fall...posted 94 tackles, 25 tackles for loss, 11 sacks and 10 hurries for head coach Coley Candaele...had 13 tackles two times...also saw time at full back and tight end...the Broncos finished 11-1, falling to Corona Santiago HS in the state quarterfinals...also competed in the shot put.

 

 

 

The 2008 Naval Academy Preparatory School most valuable player... compiled a 32-5 record as a three-year starter at Vista Murieta High School... a three-time first-team All-Southwestern League quarterback... two-time California all-state selection as an athlete while being named the Southwestern League most valuable player... as a senior passed for 2,600 yards and 20 touchdowns and rushed for 1,100 yards and 15 touchdowns.

All-league, all-valley and all CIF ... 2006 CIF Division Southern Section Male Athlete of the Year ... recorded 103 tackles, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries ... helped Vista Murrieta High School (Calif.) to a 10-0 record and the Southwestern League championship in 2006 ... also lettered in basketball and track ... honor student ... calculus Student of the Month.
